Flower Pots – Choices To make Your Garden Beautiful

A flower pot is a vessel in which a flower plant is grown. Over the years they have started to hold plants that do not bloom but are still used to beatify gardens and homes. The magnitude of flower pot designs out there is just too immense to tell you of all of them in this article but after reading this article you will know a little bit more about flower pots.

Types of Flower Pots

Terra Cotta Pots – these are the pots that have been used since the initial entrance of flowerpots on the market. Terra cotta means iron rich porous clay. Even flower lovers who dedicate a lot of their time to planting and grooming flowers do not know this and think that terra cotta simply refers to that brick red color. It is mostly used in the latter meaning rather than the prior nowadays anyway. These pots are a great way to display flowers along your driveway or your front yard and can be placed directly on the ground.

• Biodegradable pots – these are beginning to gain a lot of glamour with everyone trying to go green and save the earth. Many of the plants that you will buy nowadays will come in these pots that are biodegradable so you can dig a hole and plant them in the ground without getting your hands too dirty removing them from their initial container.

Plastic pots – these are popular as they afford you the ability to add color to your garden without all the flowers. So this is good for those who have allergies but still love to have plants around but cannot have flowering plants around.

Ceramic pots- these are ideal for indoor plants and for formal gardens as they are usually glazed and adorned with beautiful patterns and designs. They can be found in a variety of colors as well.

Why Use Flowerpots?

There are many reasons to plant in pots rather than in the ground. If you are living in an apartment or condo which you own you may not have any land space on which to plant. Likewise, if you are living in these places and are renting, planting in pots will allow you to carry your plants with you in the event you have to move. You also have the opportunity to grow plants that are season sensitive so for example if you have a plant that would not do well outside in the winter, when it is in a pot you can take it inside where the weather is a lot less harsh.

When choosing your flower and garden pots no matter your reason, it is good to know that you will be able to take your treasured plants with you wherever you end up living in the future. There are a great amount of flower pots to choose from and you are not limited to this list. These are just a few of the more popular pots on the market now.
